life statement

ME. ME. ME.

acknowledgment

let us begin with a land recognition that non-Native Americans are all connected through our sustained occupation of the ancestral land of indigenous communities; our benefit from the genocidal, settler colonialism that allowed for the creation of the American state; and our human duty to recognize the survival and resistance of indigenous people in the face of this structural violence, and their displacement from their original land.

purpose

I localize my sense of reality in the future.

the most quotidian to the most extraordinary activities and events consume my subconscious. yet, it is increasingly impossible to think futuristically when the structures, resources, and systems that mediate human sustenance are at the brink of collapse. my work and my life have been and will be dedicated to leveraging financial resources to supply vulnerable populations with the education and training to address the issues inhibiting their freedom. I often question: what is my place in a world on collapse, in crisis? I do not have an answer. I do not think anyone has that.

but, I can see that there is something I can do.

my personal journey in uncertainty has rendered a clarity of the unpredictability and unsurety of the future. as such, I have come to realize that uncertainty is powerful. uncertainty is the space of imagination, creativity, solution, and world-building. I do not mean this lightly. i have existed in liminality: as ‘other’ or different. that is not who I am, nor is it what I can do. the duplicity of social status, for the marginalized, is the opportunity to create.

>>>deviating from the social norm cements a specific kind of isolation and a lack of expectation. therefore, what I do and how I think and how I approach the issue at hand is to use the experience in limitation to build boundlessly.

i believe in the potential of our society. my imagination thrives on critical optimism. i believe we have the ability to shift the perceptions and relationships of our society to align with the essential resources and processes necessary to maintain it. i am rooted in the transcendentalist spirit of nature. this work is of the body and spirit. It is intuitive, and primal. ________

_______ this is also home to my creative and artistic thought. using this platform, I see every published piece, as an extension of myself. every piece as a look into my mind, heart and soul. sharing this part of one's self is as fulfilling as it is daunting. this is my gift to you.
