i was born and raised in portland, oregon. my connection to the land and my reverence for nature was constructed here. my understanding who I was and what I had to offer was constantly mediated between the empowering connections and community of my family; and the constant navigation of the dominating whiteness of the city…

in my socialization I have learned and unlearned and relearned and am always learning the ways I wish to contribute to the greater appeal of what the public and what society ought to be. this is a legacy I learned in the resistances of my grandparents, and their parents to sacrificed through the visceral horrors of white supremacist violence. they built through that and in spite of the material world’s perception, knew their own beauty, intelligence, capacity, and love.

i am that product. i want nothing more than to continue the generate possibilities and opportunities, from the legacy that has been given to me.
