CONSCIOUS NEGRO PODCAST

the spirit of James Baldwin reminds us of the complexity of being aware and being Black: “To be a Negro in this country and to be relatively conscious is to be in a state of rage almost, almost all of the time — and in one's work.” This legacy fuses with the early 20th Century project of newly freed slaves to determine for themselves what their new, Black identity meant, to suggest the Conscious Negro. This podcast examines, questions, and challenges the perceived and real dispositions of the ‘Black’ community, to offer a new hypothesis and conception of a contemporary Black identity. We are not an authority, we are an opinion, a platform, a medium, and an opportunity FOR BLACK PEOPLE. In community, we laugh, we question, and we critique. Join us to hear an appeal to our collective Black potential, value, and diversity with intention and love.
